Trenton is special to me because I collect some of the most beautiful (to me, anyway) dinnerware ever made - Stangl Pottery, which was made in Trenton from the 1940s to the 1970s. Now, not at all.

I am sure you heard "Trenton Makes, the world takes," while you were there. It used to be true. Cool, beautiful, great things made by Americans used to be made right there in Trenton.

It makes me sad for that time. It makes me sad that most Americans won't be able to remember a time when Americans were so capable of making such wonderful stuff.
