I began writing portablemind while traveling for business, for friends and colleagues who asked for recommendations. Through writing this blog I have discovered that I have more knowledge about local bars than is probably healthy, and I am still learning how to pack "light". And, while this shouldn't have surprised me, women travel differently than men. In consideration, some of my posts will be about where to buy a bikini (like, in Tahiti, where it's more difficult than you might think), my favorite beauty products to use when traveling, or where to find a great dress. Fair warning.

Though, I usually just end up writing about where to eat.
